Margot's Sunflowers

Hi! We are just temporarily borrowing a page of the brothers website while we get one sorted!

Thanks Brother :)

More info and updates can be found on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

In spring of 2025 Margot asked if she could have a rainbow of flowers planted in the garden for her upcoming 6th birthday. Daddy, a farmer who knows nothing about flowers, said how about a field (you could say crop!) of sunflowers instead that we can see from the window. (Possibly inspired by a recent trip to France!) And so it was, they were planted with the intention of harvesting them for bird seed in the autumn. It was touch and go with the weather but they finally seemed to thrive. They looked so beautiful, all staring at Roseberry Topping in the East that Margot wanted to share them with everyone! So we did!

We decided to open the field as a Pop Up Pick Your Own Sunflowers. We had hundreds of visitors who came to look at the flowers, take pictures or buy a bunch or just sit and enjoy a coffee.

We also took the opportunity to collect and match for a farming charity and managed to raise over £1000 for  The farming Community Network.

At the end of their season, the flowers were harvested for their seeds with the Combine harvester, mixed with some wheat seeds, also grown on the farm and bagged up ready for sale in 1kg/2kg/5kg gift bags and 10kg/15/20kg sacks and finally also by the tonne! Message us if you would like to buy some bird seed.

This year, 2026, we did it again! Different field, same concept, loads of amazing visitors came to pick their own sunflowers and enjoy an ice cream or a coffee. We chose a different charity to support and collect for this year ... Zoes Place Middlesbrough - Donating over £2700 this time, a mix of public donations and a lump sum from Margot's Sunflowers.

As well as the sunflowers we also to enjoyed making and curating a few bits and bobs- that we are continuing to make available throughout the year, by listing them below. We'll also be at a few local Craft and Christmas fairs.

This is some of the paraphernalia that Margot has curated to go with her sunflower theme! (there may be some K-Pop and love heart influence here too, but that's the joy of being 6!!)

Happy browsing. All the items listed here can be posted out (Royal Mail) at a cost, or collected from here at no extra cost.

The sunflower field will be back again in 2027, you can find us on Google, in North Yorkshire- just search for Margot's Sunflowers. Also on Facebook and Instagram.
